COVID-19 VACCINES
Vaccine distribution for First Nations in Alberta began in early January 2021. Kapawe'no First Nation started the roll-out of vaccinations in February 2021 for members living on-reserve over the age of 65. We are continuing to work with Alberta Health Services to continue our effort to provide the vaccine to more individuals.

At this time, Kapawe'no First Nation will only be vaccinating on-reserve members based on the decision by the Province of Alberta.
COVID-19 URBAN VACCINE DISTRIBUTION
For individuals living in urban areas, there are Pharmacies that are approved to distribute the COVID-19 Vaccine. Learn more about the COVID-19 Vaccine Program and book your appointment here.
Currently, the program is distributing the vaccine in these urban areas for Senior 75 and over.

There is currently support and advocacy to get additional vaccine clinics in Calgary, Edmonton and other urban areas. New information will be shared here.
COVID-19 Vaccine - Phase 2B
Albertans age 16 and older with underlying health conditions eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

On February 9th, Kapawe’no held its first phase of the vaccination for the age category of 65+ Kapaweno Residents. A total of 20 First shot vaccinations were completed with the second dose set to be provided on March 22, for all those individuals who received the first dose. Only those who received the first dose will be booked for this clinic.
Kapawe’no received the Moderna Vaccine and will continue to receive the Moderna Vaccine until such time as all of the residents over the age of 18 years have been given the opportunity to be vaccinated.
