Swan Hills Treatment Centre

Apply for a $3000 First Nations Scholarship by January 31, 2021. 

The Swan Hills Treatment Centre First Nations Education Scholarship is available for graduating or mature students from the Driftpile, Swan River, Kapawe'no, Sucker Creek and Sawridge First Nations. There are five scholarships of $3000 per year for a renewable term of three consecutive scholastic years.

Halloween Contests

As the money that had been allocated for the Halloween Contests for Kapawe’no did not get utilized due to shortage of entries, we decided to do random draws for all of the participants that did not receive the main prizes.

  • 4 Random Prizes of $25.00 for the Costume Contest (All ages).

  • 4 Prizes of $50.00 for the Door Contest

 

All participant names were put into a draw for the two categories. Draw was made at the Band Office.

Halloween Short Story Contest

To participate, write a 3 page short story with a Halloween theme. Story can be handwritten or typed, but ensure your writing is easy to read. Please submit to the health centre in person, by fax or email. It can be faxed to 780-751-2363 or sent to admin@kapaweno.ca

 

Contest is open to ages 10 – 18 but must be enrolled in school, either virtual, in person or online learning. There are 3 age categories and there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for each age group. Please include your name, age and a phone number.

Age categories are as follows:

  • 10-12

  • 13-15

  • 16-18

 

Deadline for submission: OCTOBER 29, 2020 at 4:00 pm, any stories received after the deadline WILL NOT be considered.

 

Winners will be announced on October 30, 2020

Halloween Costume Contest

To participate you must submit a picture in your costume, it can be text to 780-523-1820 and your picture must be submitted by noon on October 30, 2020. Any entries later than the deadline WILL NOT be entered.

Contest is open to ages 0-18, there are 5 age group categories and there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for each category

  • 9-12

  • 16-18

Winners will be announced on October 30, 2020. Prizes to be picked up at the health centre.

Halloween Door Decorating Contest

To participate you can decorate the exterior front door of your house with a Halloween theme. One submission per household. You can decorate your door as cute or as scary as you want.

 

Submit a photo of your creativity by text to 780-523-1820 by October 30th no later than 12 noon. Entries received later than the deadline WILL NOT be entered.

 

Winners will be notified on October 30, 2020.
